HTTPS protocol encrypts the information or data using Transport Layer Sercurity (TLS) certificate or its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate. The certificate establishes a secured connection for data transmission between the server and the browser. It ensures that the data which is in transaction remains private and is not misused by fraudsters and cybercriminals.
