Sir Tim Berners - Lee was born on June 8, 1955, London, England. He is a British computer scientist, popularly known as the inventor of the World Wibe Web. Both of his parents Conway Berners - Lee and Mary Lee Woods worked on the Ferranti Mark I, the first commercial computer, He studied at Queen's College, Oxford, from 1973 to 1976, where he received a first - class degree in Physics.

After graduating, Berners - Lee designed computer software for two years at Plessey Telecommunications Ltd., located in Poole, Dorset, England. He had served at several positions in the computer industry. In 1980, he was employed as an independent management CERN in Switzerland. In March 1989, he made a proposal for an information managemant system, and sometime around mid November, he implemented the first successful communication between a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) client and server via the Internet.

Tim is the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which oversees the Web's continued development. He is also the founder of the World Wide Web Foundation, and is a senior reasearcher and one of the founders if Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT

In 2004, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and honoured with the title 'Sir'.

Vinton Gray Cerf was born on June 23, 1943. He is an American computer scientist who completed his PhD in the year 1972.

He started his professional career with IBM as a Systems engineer. Vinton is considered as "the father of the Internet". He shared this title with Bob Kahn who is also an American computer scientist.

Cerf was a Program manager for the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) funding various groups to develop TCP / IP technology. During the late 1980s, Cerf moved to MCI where his active participation was required in the development of the first commerical email system (MCI Mail) connected to the Internet.

Cerf has worked for Google as a Vice President and cheif Internet Evangelist since October 2005. Vinton Gray Cerf joined the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in 1999, and served until November 2007.

Cerf was elected as the presidient of the Association for Computing Machinery in May 2012, and in August 2013 he joined the Council on Cyber Security's Board of Advisors.

His contribution in the field of Interenet and technology has brought him laurels. He was honoured with awards that include the National Medal of Technology, the Turing Award, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
